چکیده
The Australian Air Quality Forecasting System (AAQFS) is a joint project between the Bureau of Meteorology, CSIRO Atmospheric Research, CSIRO Energy Technology, the Environment Protection Authority Victoria and the New South Wales Environment Protection Authority to develop a highresolution numerical air quality forecasting system. Currently 24 to 36-hour forecasts are produced in both Melbourne and Sydney twice daily at a horizontal resolution of 1 km in urban areas and 5 km in rural areas. Forecasts are provided for a number of species including, oxides of nitrogen (NOx), ozone (O3), sulAust. Met. Mag. 52 (2003) 229-240

Investigating the Effects of Optimal Use of Public Transport to Reduce Traffic and Air Pollution in Tabriz
The rapid growth of metropolitan areas around the world, coupled with the increase in population in these cities, has created numerous problems such as traffic congestion and disruption to the inter-city transportation system. Therefore, this dilemma has been one of the major challenges facing urban planning in the late twentieth century which has influenced the achievement of sustainable urban...
متن کاملGEM-PP: a GIS EMissions Pre-Processor to ingest European emission inventory (EMEP/CORINAIR) into photochemical transport models
Air quality simulations and forecasting using photochemical transport models require detailed information of the emissions in the area under investigation. Due to the wide range of space and time scales involved in the physical and chemical processes of air pollution phenomena, a need to perform air quality simulations over larger regions, at finer grid resolutions, using more emissions sources...
متن کاملIncluding Health in Environmental Assessments of Major Transport Infrastructure Projects: A Documentary Analysis
Background Transport policy and practice impacts health. Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs) are regulated public policy mechanisms that can be used to consider the health impacts of major transport projects before they are approved. The way health is considered in these environmental assessments (EAs) is not well known. This research asked: How and to what extent was human health considere...
متن کاملDetermining the best water quality model for the rivers in north of Iran (case study: Pasikhan River)
The aim of this paper is to study the popular models used for the simulation of major elements of a water quality system. The present study compares results of the CE-QUAL-W2 model with the WASP5 and MIKE11 models to assess the water quality of Pasikhan River. The contaminant loadings of Nitrate and Phosphate are utilized in the CE-QUAL-W2, WASP5 and MIKE11 simulations. This study is the first ...
متن کاملPerformance Evaluation of a Curved Type Vane Separator at Different Plate Spacings in the Range of 25 to 35mm Using Numerical Simulation
In this paper, the turbulent air droplet flow inside a single passage of a curved type vane separator has been studied numerically. The simulation is based on the Eulerian - Lagrangian method. For turbulent air flow calculations, a computer code was developed to solve the Reynolds Averaged Navier Stokes (RANS) equations together with the equations of Reynolds Stress Transport Model (RSTM) o...
